What is Mechatronics?

Mechatronics is a combination of three fundamental engineering fields: Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering and Computer and Software engineering. It is a dynamic field that changes constantly with today's rapid improvements in technology and computer systems. A high level of experience and expertise is needed to design Mechatronic systems. Our company ii_intelligent_ideas is your innovative expert architect for providing customized client solutions utilizing Mechatronic systems.

The broad field of Mechatronics involves mechanical, instrumentation, electronics, robotics/automation, computer components and control systems. Our Mechatronics engineers combine the principles of mechanics, electronics, and computing to generate simpler, more economical and reliable systems for highly automated manufacturing processes. Our graph to the right shows how the disciplines work together in a mutually beneficial relationship.

Examples of Mechatronic systems are robots, digitally-controlled internal combustion engines, any kind of control-by-wire systems, elevators, cars, airplanes, and automotive systems such as anti-locking brakes and spin-assist.

The six levels of a company production method are shown in the "Automation Pyramid". The secret is to know which level is the right one for a company to reach its highest productivity with ultimate effectiveness of all production processes.
